A DAY OF JUDGEMENT

The famous Cork pub Henchy's of St Luke’s recently asked ARBUTUS BREAD (Patsy and I) to judge their prestigious annual stew competition, run to raise funds for Annette's Orphanage in Cambodia and to give bragging rights to the winners!
A packed pub for the competition watched Munster gain a bonus point against Ospreys and then sampled the entries, which as always were extraordinary in their range of ingredients and the quality of the entries. Judging was of course anonymous.
The results were astonishingly good, and it was a difficult choice to make.
I am delighted not to be a professional chef anymore; I don't think I could win such a competition myself. The winner was a traditional beef and kidney stew, just what I would want to come home to on a winter’s night.
Comhghairdeas le gach duine agus go raibh maith agaibh go leir.
